We felt that it was time we gave you some news from one of our partner charities. All of our Re-Sourceful partner charities work tirelessly to make the world a better place in one way or another. Just as it can be hard to stay in touch with friends when life gets busy, its equally hard to stay up to date with what all of our partner charities are up to, especially when they’re up to so much.
With that in mind we thought we’d help to keep you in the loop as far as global good do-ers go, so this week, here is some news from our friends at Frank Water.
FRANK Water is a pioneering social enterprise that donates 100% of its profits to sustainable 5-filter clean water projects via its charity arm, FRANK Water Projects.
Award-winning social entrepreneur, Katie Alcott, 29, created FRANK in 2005 after suffering dysentry from drinking dirty water in India. Witnessing the rise of bottled water sales in the UK, she dreamt of the Water-for-Water concept - creating an ethical bottled water brand that would benefit worldwide clean water projects. On a shoestring budget and with a volunteer startup team FRANK Water was created to be part of the solution.
FRANK funds sustainable projects that provide clean, safe drinking water by installing the world's most effective water filtering process - 5 stage, UV filtering technology, built into a community owned and run facilities.
FRANK Water Projects also raises public awareness of global water and related health issues. Selling bottled water to shops, restaurants, festivals, schools and other organisations is just one of the ways FRANK Water funds the projects.
Every 1 litre of FRANK Water sold in the UK provides 200 litres of clean safe drinking water at their projects.
